Vincent Gabaglio is an International Relations Officer at EUMETSAT, where he leads cooperation with Africa on meteorological satellites, Earth observation (EO) data access, and capacity development. He coordinates EUMETSAT’s contributions to flagship programmes such as GMES & Africa, ClimSA, SEWA, and the Africa–EU Space Partnership Programme. He works closely with the African Union Commission, regional climate centres, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) to strengthen the operational use of satellite data for weather forecasting, climate services, and disaster risk reduction. He also coordinates the EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa, whose 17th edition is planned for October 2026. Prior to joining EUMETSAT, Vincent contributed to the early development of the European GNSS programme Galileo (2001–2006), gaining experience in large-scale European space initiatives and international cooperation.
