Dr. Luca Maria Salamone is a senior Italian civil servant with a distinguished academic and professional background. He holds degrees in law and political science, a PhD in Public Law, and multiple master’s degrees in public administration and international studies. A former senior officer in the Armed Forces, he has nearly 30 years of experience in public service, specialising in administrative, economic, and technical-scientific areas. Before becoming Director General of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) in November 2023, he coordinated the Task Force for Maritime Policies at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and held key roles in the Ministry of Defence, focusing on procurement, research, and international defense agreements. He has also worked with several other ministries and has been active in academia as a lecturer and contributor to scientific journals on public and international law.
