Peter Martinez is the Executive Director of the Secure World Foundation. He has extensive experience in multilateral space diplomacy, space policy formulation and space regulation. Prior to joining SWF, he served as the head of the national space regulatory authority in South Africa and chaired a multi-year process in the United Nations that negotiated a set of international consensus guidelines to promote the safety and sustainability of space operations. He has participated in several other international fora and processes, both within and outside of the UN context, dealing with the governance, safety, security, and sustainability of space activities.
