Dr Somaia Mohamed Mahmoud
Dr Somaia Mohamed Mahmoud holds B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Cairo University. Currently, she is the Director of Space telecommunication and Navigation Systems Design at the Egyptian Space Agency, with over 23 years of experience in Academic and professional work. Dr. Somaia has held various roles, including, System Engineer for the Nexsat-2 satellite, Project Manager for a space research project funded by STDF (2021-2023), Communication System Engineer, and Hardware Designer at the Egyptian Space Agency. With a rich academic background, she has taught at Cairo University, MSA University in Cairo, and Queens University in Canada. Dr. Somaia's research interests encompass satellite technology, Satellite communication systems, Digital signal processing, Embedded systems, and IoT technology.
