Mr. Koichi Kikuchi
Mr. Koichi Kikuchi is the Manager of the International Relations Division of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). His expertise is in space policy and law. He joined NASDA, one of the former organisations of JAXA, in 1997. He has worked for various sections, including those in charge of strategy and planning, international relations, and space law. He was seconded to the Science and Technology Agency in 1999-2000 and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2005-2007. He worked for JAXA Washington D.C. Office from 2009 to 2012. He joined a study team set by the Cabinet Office as a legal lead to draft the guidelines on a license to operate a spacecraft performing on-orbit servicing in 2020-2021. Currently, he is also working for the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Public Policy (GraSPP) as a part-time lecturer of the space policy course since 2018. He has been a researcher at Keio University Center for Space Law since 2019. He has been a visiting researcher at The University of Tokyo Institute for Future Initiatives (IFI) since 2020.
