Samuel Chembe Maango
Samuel Maango is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience as a land surveyor, technical expert, manager, and director, specializing in satellite-based earth observation tools such as remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). His expertise spans engineering planning, mine development, and environmental and natural resource management, including forestry, water resources, wildlife habitat management, geological mapping, mineral exploration, and agriculture. He has worked extensively in government and led national and regional programs focused on geospatial systems for humanitarian, conservation, and planning challenges. Most recently, he served as task team leader for the Natural Capital Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystem Services Program. Samuel is proficient in field data collection and mapping tools and is an active member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and the Surveyor Institute of Zambia (SIZ).
