Jane Egerton-Idehen is a Tech Executive, Author, and Angel Investor. She is the MD/CEO of Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), Nigeria’s leading agency managing the nation’s communications satellite operations. Before her role at NIGCOMSAT, Jane was Head of Sales for the Middle East and Africa at Meta (formerly Facebook). She also served as the Country Manager in Nigeria and Regional Sales Director for West Africa at Avanti Communications, a UK-based satellite company. Earlier in her career, she spent over 13 years at Ericsson in sales and management roles and worked as a Cluster Lead for Nokia Siemens Networks in West Africa. Jane graduated with a second-class upper degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and holds a master’s degree from Warwick Business School, UK. She also completed executive programs at Harvard Business School and Yale School of Management. With over 17 years of experience in Africa’s telecommunications industry, Jane is recognised for her expertise in technology, stakeholder relationship management, and strategic growth. As one of the few women leading key business areas in tech, she has championed initiatives to support women’s career growth. In 2016, she founded Women and Career to mentor and empower women beyond her organisation. Jane’s passion for promoting STEM careers among girls dates back to her university days, where she co-founded IEEE Women in Engineering with the late Clementina Saduwa. She continues to inspire young women through speaking engagements at platforms like TEDx, the African Science Academy, and Ashesi University. Her dedication to diversity and inclusion has earned her numerous accolades, including the Most Outstanding Female CEO of the Year 2024 by the 5th Business and Excellence Awards and the Womenovate INWED2024 Women Impact Leader Award. In addition to her professional achievements, Jane actively gives back to her community. She volunteers with the ACE Foundation’s mentorship program and supports underserved teenage girls in Lagos through the Sozo Network’s #BeforeITurn18 program.
