Yuya Nakamura is the President and CEO of Axelspace Holdings Corporation, a Tokyo- based microsatellite company. He earned a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2007, where he was involved in three student-led nanosatellite projects, including the world’s first successful CubeSat. After a brief tenure as a researcher at the University of Tokyo, he co-founded Axelspace in 2008. Since then, he has led numerous successful microsatellite missions, including RAPIS-1, Japan’s first government satellite developed by a startup. Under his leadership, Axelspace Holdings was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in August 2025.
