While industrial capability is built nationally and commercially, global competitiveness increasingly depends on how Africa acts collectively. Drawing lessons from initiatives such as the EUu2013Africa Space Partnership Programme, GMES & Africa, and AfDevSat, this high-level discussion examines why sustained continental cooperation is critical to reducing fragmentation, avoiding duplication, and ensuring that space investments deliver equitable benefits across African countries. The session will explore practical mechanisms for cooperation. Panellists will assess how governance frameworks can strengthen Africau2019s collective bargaining power in global space markets and create stable platforms for cross-border collaboration. By focusing on institutions, rules, and long-term coordination tools, this session addresses how Africa can convert diverse national ambitions into coherent continental advantage, ensuring that space cooperation is structural, sustained, and globally competitive.
