African GNSS Augmentation Systems: Business Case & Implementation
The panel will explore the business case and implementation strategies for GNSS augmentation systems, specifically Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS), in Africa. Discussions will highlight the economic benefits, such as the outcomes of the 2023 African Union Continental SBAS CBA study, or the projected USD 1.1 billion gain over 25 years in South Africa and the potential to enhance safety and efficiency across sectors like aviation, maritime, and agriculture. Opportunity of building on existing initiative will also be discussed such as the ANGA SBAS programme already involving 18 African States.
