For Africa’s emerging space manufacturing and launch ecosystem, the absence of harmonised quality and certification frameworks risks creating parallel systems that limit scale, increase compliance costs, and weaken global competitiveness. This session explores how a coordinated African space standard can be developed under the leadership of the African Space Agency and regional bodies. Panellists will examine certification pathways for satellite components, launch safety protocols, spectrum governance, and data quality benchmarks, while ensuring that regulatory clarity does not stifle innovation.
